Plan tickets

It's easy to find promotional tickets to Bangkok (around $535), but unfortunately they are seldom valid beyond 45 days.
To increase the appeal for those who want to travel further afield, some companies offer "open" tickets valid for up to one year, at around $730.
From Bangkok to Phnom Penh: no problem, as daily flights link the two capitals. Prices vary from around $220 return.

Transportation

Motorcycle taxis: $50 a week.

Motorcycle rental: 90 + 35 = $125 a week.

Fly to Siem Reap and hire an air-conditioned car: 90 + (30 x 7) = 90 + 210 = $300 a week.

Accommodation

There's something for everybody and for all budgets.
The truly budget conscious can always find a simple roof and bed for a few dollars ($1.50 to $5.00).
For more fussy travelers who can't get by without air conditioning, en suite bathroom, refrigerator or even TV, it is easy to find something to their liking from $10 to $70 a night, depending on the quality of the hotel.
And for the refined types who can't live without an Olympic sized pool, tennis courts and the latest modem in the hotel's Business-Center, there is plenty of choice. Prices range from $70 up to $2,000.

Restaurants

If you're happy with rice and fish in a variety of sauces, and swear by iced tea, you can get by for just $2 a day and prove that far from the spas it is still possible to lose weight.
You want to try those Asian food delights or simply enjoy home cooking without going bankrupt: you can do it your way for anywhere from $5 to $20.
Your taste buds are your master and know no other law than your stomach's capacity: set aside at least $40.
